Light Alloy is a multi-language shareware video and audio player for Windows. This comprehensive application supports most popular multimedia files, playlist, video, and audio files. It can play LAP, AVI, MP3, IFO, M3U, ASX, OGM, DAT, 3GP, MPG, ASF, PLS, MKA, MOD, MKA, MP3, WAV, and other file formats. This program can save us time, money, and effort. We do not have to search on the Internet for multimedia file extensions and the right player to open them. It also lets us preview a file without the need of waiting for download completion. This can be very useful when using P2P programs that lack this feature. Light Alloy 4.1 has been enhanced and modernized in several ways. For example, the interface layout has been changed and new features are available from the preferences window (WinAMP, DirectShow, Avi Synth, and Global Keys). In addition to the standard options (play, stop, go forward, volume, etc.), we can customize many options such as sound settings, video settings, subtitles, full screen, and preferences (mouse/keyboard/hot keys settings, event, system, WinAMP, file types, etc.), and even hibernate it and power off. We are allowed to create and manage playlists, control DirectShow filters, and view file info. We can also take screenshots while playing a video. Now, there are many different interface skins ready to be downloaded individually from the developer's site. We can evaluate this program free of charge. Light Alloy runs under Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98, and 95 OS. |
